Here's some important information you need to help you and your students get the most out of the show:
- Out of respect for our youth cast's education, we only book performances for every second Thursday morning. If you're interested, please contact us soon as performance dates fill quickly.
- We take 30 minutes to set up and need about 15 minutes to strike our set.
- Our performance is about 50 minutes long and with the post-show Q&A session, it usually goes about 55-60 minutes. So, all told, we need the performance space for about an hour and 45 minutes.
- We need a gym-sized area in which to perform. We need FULL access to that area 30 minutes prior to show start time.
- We need a large floor space for our "stage" and we create a center aisle in the audience through which our performers walk.
- We recommend having no more than 200 in the audience at one time, so they can hear
(we have a sound system for music, but don't use microphones.) We have done 2 shows back-to-back for large schools! - project ARC does not accept payment for our show, but schools must donate a minimum of $200 to a charitable organization chosen from the following list compiled by our youth cast ($300 for 2 shows). A representative of your school must present your cheque, made out to the chosen organization, to the cast after the Q&A session. Then, project ARC takes the school's cheque and mails it to the desired organization with a note explaining that the funds are the school's "payment" for a project ARC show and that tax receipts, if applicable, should be mailed to the school. The cast's chosen organizations are:

- project ARC (elementary version) is designed for grades 3-6. Some of the material about human rights and personal insecurity may be a little "heavy" for younger children. What we've found from student letters we've received is that the kids come away with the positive messages of action, responsibility, choice and hope and don't focus as much on the negatives, which is what we want, but we do address issues like the plight of child soldiers, so younger students may be alarmed. It is always the school's choice about which grades see project ARC.
- project ARC (junior high version) is designed for grades 7-9. The same themes of rights, responsibility, choice and empathy from the original show are viewed through a more mature lens.
- There's no need to introduce our show: after the audience is seated, our cast is accustomed to beginning the show from there!
- At one point in the show, the cast will ask for one teacher volunteer. We do this for three reasons:
(1) it's a great opportunity for teachers to role model challenging personal insecurity by putting oneself "out there,"
(2) we need an extra person for that scene, and
(3) the kids LOVE to see a teacher be part of the show!
We ask that teachers be role models for reaching out by showing enthusiasm for being involved. Nothing we ask you to do will embarrass you in the least and it will all be over in a minute - promise! - If you are also booking the Stomp Out, Reach Out or Ripple Effect Workshop, remember that there is an additional $50 fee/workshop, payable to one of our workshop leaders. We will provide an invoice for the workshop(s) to your school, but we do not have an HST number.
